How we work together.
Three layers that reinforce each other: the leader, the leadership team, and the way the business is run.
Not three separate services.
Most people who reach out aren’t sure what to call what they’re looking for. Here’s the honest distinction.
A coach comes with questions. Good ones, but the method assumes the answer is already in you, waiting to be drawn out. Sometimes it is. Often, at a real inflection point, it isn’t.
A consultant arrives with an answer. A framework, a report, a recommendation, built before they’ve sat inside your situation.
What most business owners actually need, most of the time, is simpler and rarer: an objective outside view on a decision that matters, from someone who will stay with the problem until the next move is clear. That’s the work of a strategic adviser, a thinking partner. Collaborative rather than directive. Not only questions, not pre-built answers, holding the leader and the business together.
Executive coaching, or consulting, or strategic advisory?
I calm the system. I hold up the mirror. I stay with you until the shift lands.
In practice that means I interject at the moment something needs to be said. I name what’s being avoided. I state what I observe. I hold accountability when commitment is waning.
It isn’t technique. It’s what happens when someone is watching the whole system closely enough to know which moment needs the interruption.
The shift is the moment something invisible becomes visible and can’t be unseen. That moment is the work. Everything after it is yours.
How people come in.
Part one is Clarity
The shorter piece of work. We identify the gap between what you intend, according to your plans, and what you're actually committed to, as seen through how you and the business really operates: your decisions, your activity, and your results. Those are usually the things that never get written down.
Then we look at that gap together. It's where you decide what this business needs to become, and what has to change to get there. That becomes your blueprint. It's finished work, and it's yours to keep.
Part two is Coherence
The ongoing work, where those intentions become commitments, built into how you execute and deliver, your structure, your standards, your culture, and how you lead.
That takes as long as it takes, because the old way doesn't leave just because you've seen it. It comes back the first time something urgent and familiar pulls everyone toward it. Part two is being there when it does.
Clarity is the gap between what you plan and what is true.
Coherence is closing that gap, and keeping it closed.
The partnership is formalised with a contract. It solidifies the commitment we are making to each other and adds a layer of accountability on both sides. Scope, rhythm and depth get worked out in the first conversation, and I keep the client load deliberately small.
Individual work produces clarity for the leader. Group work produces clarity for the system.
A leadership team or board that sees itself clearly, its patterns, its blind spots, its collective capacity, can move in a way that a group of well-aligned individuals can’t.
Workshops, off site visits and facilitated sessions are scoped per engagement. They typically sit inside an existing client relationship or serve as the entry point to one.
What Clarity
produces.
Four to six weeks.
You finish holding your business reconstructed from your own record, your plan rebuilt from the top down with a structure you can operate on, and a fortnight of running the business that way, so you know what holds before I leave.
It’s finished work and it’s yours to keep.
